Motors and Gears
Students will be presented with different types of gear and they will learn about gear ratios and how they power the cars.
Students will be given a wide range of gears to choose from for powering their cars. They will be lectured on how a gear works, what a revolution per minute is, which is better for pushing and wihich is better for power. They will be allowed to choose what type of gears they want to use for the cars. They can have as many gears as they want. The cars can be four wheeled, three wheeled ord two wheeled. They may choose front wheeled drive or rear wheeled drive. There will be alot of trial and error and testing the designs before we actually race them.
