Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Miranda Barringer

Welcome to the 2019-20 school year! I am new to Poquoson, but I am very excited to work with each and every one of you. I believe that the classroom should a be a safe environment where students feel that they can take risks to reach higher engagement with deeper understanding. My class is a place where participation is neccessary to explore the various forms and sides of English. My goal is to foster growth and development as well as supporting interest in the subject area. I want students to take away real world skills and connections of English beyond the classroom because this subject is not isolated within a building. A big component of the room is self adovacy and responsibilty aligning with real world preparedness. Students will discuss and explore with guidance from me, encouraging their active engagement in all aspects of the course. Not every student speaks the loudest, but every student needs a way to express themselves. I believe it is my job to create that outlet and as many opportunities to use it as possible.
