Mrs. Jaclyn Haas
Welcome to Mrs. Haas's 5th grade class! We will have quite an engaging and fun year!
This will be my 11th year teaching, and my 11th year at PES. Time has just flown by! Some of you may know me as Ms. Sinclair. My husband, Tim, and I were married in July of 2017, and just welcomed a beautiful daughter this past August. I answer to Ms. Sinclair and Mrs. Haas :). We live in the Fox Hill area of Hampton with our all-white, cuddly pitbull. When we're not working, we enjoy traveling. Our favorite places to visit are Pittsburgh and Punxsutawney: to catch up with family, and watch our favorite hockey team, the Pittsburgh Penguins.
When people ask me what my career is, and I tell them that I'm a teacher, most people say, "I couldn't do what you do." I agree, most people couldn't do what us teachers do, but that makes us who we are. I wanted to be a teacher since before I even began going to school. My inspiration to be the best teacher I can be came from my first and second grade teacher (she looped with us). Mrs. Lorrie Mercer went above and beyond for me, and for that, I'm forever grateful.
Please feel free to contact me through email, phone, or Remind if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.
The 3rd Quarter ended on March 13. Students have the opportunity to improve their grade if they wish by following the instructions provided and reading the email I sent to parents on March 30. If you are happy with your 3rd Quarter grade, then you need to take no additional action at this time. Information about 4th Quarter assignments will be coming to you soon.
If you would like to improve your READING or MATH grades, please turn in the work from the first three days of the paper packet that was sent home on Friday, March 13. Directions on how to turn in the assignments can be found here: (how to turn in assignments) Links to each day of work can be found here for reference: Day 1, Day 2, Day 3
I hope everyone is staying safe and enjoying the nice weather we've had :). Please know that I'm always here for you, now and in the future, if you ever need me!
