WELCOME TO MR. BOWDENS ALGEBRA CLASSES
It is a pleasure to have you in my math class. Everyone can be successful in math if they are willing to put in the work. It is imperative to keep up in all Algebra classes. If you feel yourself getting overwhelmed or falling behind, I will be available after school to help you. All students and parents can follow the upcoming assignments on the calendar on the school website.
As far as calculators go, I highly recommend that all students have their own TI-84 graphing calculator. The curriculum of most high school math classes (as well as future college classes) will require the use of an advanced level graphing calculator. The grading scale for all classes are as follows: 15% for homework, 35% for all quizzes and 50% for all test grades.
I look forward to having a great year with all of you!

Attention Parents and Students:
Fourth Quarter Information:
I am excited to be starting the fourth quarter with you! Our class may look a little different than what we are used to, but we will navigate our way through this
change together. Here is some information you may find helpful.
When we have live instructional sessions or small group meetings, they will be days before a quiz or a test so that I can anwser any questions. The time will be
between 9 and 10 in the morning.
It is going to be very important that you check your PCPS GMail account and our Google Classroom (Codes for each class are above) at least once a day as these will be
the primary ways that I will communicate with you during the fourth quarter.
The grading will be the same as it was during the first three quarters. Homework will be 15% of the grade, quizzes will be 35% of the grade and tests will still be 50%.
A test or quiz not completed on time will result in a twenty point deduction. The Algebra II book (McGraw Hill Glencoe ISBN # 0-07-866773-9) is availble on line if you
want to do additional problems to help with the worksheets. The Algebra I book (McGraw Hill Glencoe ISBN # 0-07-866770-4) is also available on line.
If you are not sure how to join or use Google Classroom or just need a quick refresher, please take a moment to watch this short video. How to Sign-in to Google Classroom and Access Materials.
I will have office hours all quarter where I will be available to help you or answer any questions you may have from 10-11 on Monday, Wedesday and Friday.
Please don't hesitate to email me if you have questions!
