Poquoson High School is a new participant in the High School Technical Training Program offered through the International Code Council (ICC). Students participating in the Architectural Drawing course at PHS will develop a comprehensive knowledge of construction trades in four areas: Building, plumbing, HVAC (mechanical), and electrical. Students completing all elements, including a final exam, will receive a nationally-recognized Certificate of Achievement (COA) from ICC. Local contractor, Mr. Joe Rollins, generously provided seed money in the amount of $500 to help bring this industry credentialing program to PHS students. Additionally, Ms. Anne Payne, Senior Building Inspector for the City of Poquoson, provides valuable support and guidance as PHS prepares to launch this program in the 2018-2019 school year.
