Adopt-A-Book Program Enriches Poquoson Primary School Library
At this year’s Open House, the Poquoson Primary School librarian placed newly acquired school library books for student adoption. The “Adopt-A-Book” station offered families the opportunity to “adopt” any title from a large selection of new library books. With a ten dollar donation, personalized donation bookplates were added to the students’ chosen books and on the first day of school, adopted library books were sent home with those students, allowing them the very first checkout of their adopted book.
Through the generosity of Poquoson Primary School families, the school library raised approximately four hundred dollars. This money benefits the school library, students, and staff, and will allow the school library to acquire more new titles, in addition to STEM resources and cooperative learning activities.
